Hundreds and thousands of acres of grain fields were destroyed, not to mention millions mil-lions of dollars worth of residences and business property. One of the principl dangers to field and forest used to be throwing cigarettes or cigar ci-gar stubs from train windows into the dry grass. There is now a greater danger in the thousands of automobiles passing along the highway high-way from which a person flips a cigarette or cigar. Also camp fires left by persons not familiar with outdoor out-door life. Be careful, put out fires, see that no waste is left around your premises, cut the dry grass next to buildings, clean up the oily rags around your garage and don't take chances. . |
