Elmer A. Porter of this city lias been commissioned 1st lieutenant, engineering corps and ordered to report re-port for duty with the 403 Engineers, Fort Douglas, Utah. March 1, 1910, Mr. Porter was appointed w ater commissioner com-missioner on the Sevier river and lias been granted an indefinite leave of absence by the various irrigation companies, com-panies, to aocept this commission with the U. S army. Prior to the year 191(3 Mr. Porter wasdistrict engineer engi-neer for the C. S. Geological survey with headquarters in Salt Lake City. His home is in Reno, Nevada, but he has spent most of his lime during the past ten years in Ulah. Mr. Porter Por-ter expects to leave Gunnison for his new post about October 24.
