Show US INVITED TO RESUME PLACE CONFERENCE HEADS URGE DIS-- T ' GRUNTLED DELEGATES TO COME BACK INTO FOLD. i Efforts Being Made by Allied Diplomats Diplo-mats to Heal Breach Caused by Absence of Italy's Representatives Representa-tives at Conference. Paris. It is announced that President Presi-dent Wilson, Premier Clemenceau and Premier Lloyd George, composing the council , of three, on May 4, sent a communication to the Italian government govern-ment inviting it to resume its place at the peace conference. It is generally believed here that the Italian representatives will accept the invitation and that the- misunderstanding misunderstand-ing will be adjusted and the break soon be a closed incident. j The terms of the communication to the Italian government were not disclosed, dis-closed, but it is believed they seek to remove yie personal element of the controversy and to pave the way for a territorial adjustment when the relations re-lations are resumed. It was announced in Paris last week that Premier Lloyd George had sent a representative of his government io Pome to open informal negotiations for the return to Paris of an Italian peace delegation. Telegrams from the Italian capital reporting the efforts being made by allied diplomats to heal the breach caused by the absence of Italy's delegation delega-tion at the peace conference say that Camille Barre, French, ambassador at Rome, had conferred with Premier Or- , lando. The question of Italian representation representa-tion at the peace negotiations, so far as can be ascertained has not been raised by the German delegation. Certainly Cer-tainly it was not touched upon at the meeting of the interallied and German credentials commissions at Versailles. |
