Show J The Rallies. The Progressives drew a big crowd Monday nigflt to hear Lew Larson, the paryt's candidate for congressman. congress-man. The brass band was engaged for the occasion, and singing by Mr. Bradley and daughter of Manti was another entertaining feature. The speaker scored without mercy the party in power, both national and local. The Progressive's engine he averred was the only fit one to be trusted with the load to be launched November 5th, the Republican machine ma-chine having worn out and the Democratic Dem-ocratic puller had become too rusty for the job. Tuesday evening a Republican rally was enlivened by the brass band and entertained with campaign songs by MisEos Anderson and Sperry of Manti, who were encored at every number. Following short speeches from E. D. Sorenson and some of the candidates candi-dates on the connty ticket Judge Jacob Johnson, candidate for congressmen, con-gressmen, addressed the meeting in a conservative manner, He reviewed the tariff question in favorable terms to his party and touched upon the issue arising in the Chicago convention conven-tion that led to a third party organization, organi-zation, testifying, of his knowledge that the renomination of Taft was brought about in fairness. The Progressive party is to hold another rally this Friday evening. |
