Show SHOCK KILLS TWO MEN. High Voltage Passes Through Body of One Man and Kills Two Others. Salt Lake City. AVthur Dixon of Provo, aged 41 years, and William Blood of Midway, aged 25 years, were instantly killed at the Murdock power plant, southeast of Provo, in a strange manner Tuesday morning, while M. V. Eardley, aged 27 years, of Salt Lake City, who was the first to receive the shock and who appeared to be in the most imminent danger, escaped with severe burns, which are not likely like-ly to cause permanent injury. Dixon, who was a master contractor, was being be-ing assisted by Flood and Eardley in carrying a new transformer into a Dew substation. Eardley was in front, backing into the building, when he carhe in contact with an uninsulated electrice wire carrying a high voltage. There was a flash, a sizzling of burning flesh and the current passed through Eardley's body, through the transformer and in the bodies of his companions, killing them instantly, while Eardley, who transmitted the deadly current to his fellow workmen, escaped with severe burns. |
