Show 1 COUNCIL SESSION. J A. C. Fjeldated, J. A. Tuft and Chris Sorenson comprised a delegation delega-tion sent from Centerfield to wait upon up-on the city council at a special session held last Saturday, asking to have the Gunnison waterworks system extended extend-ed out there. The council listened respeetfnlly to the request, but on consideting the matter concluded to keep the system within the present i boundary. J. T. Jones and Geo. Halveracn presented a request in behalf of the Gunnison baseball organization, for permission to use the oity park grounds, with exclusive privilege during the progress of competitive j games. The application was grant- j . ed, stipulating that the oity be given 30 per cent of the gross gate receipts to apply on paying the indebtedness incurred last season. The organization organiza-tion i3 also given the privilege to close ! . ths streets abutting the park while erames are in progress. This is done a committee to find out the cost of extending ex-tending to all parties in the city alike and whether the condition of the treasury wculd justify such outlay at the present time. If the report is unfavorable un-favorable the parties concerned will probably have the expense of laying lay-ing the pipe and afterwards be reimbursed re-imbursed by the oity. This seemed the prevailing sentiment among the council. "Let him choke awhile," came in retalliation from Councilman Beauregard Beaure-gard to Charles P. Peterson, who asked ask-ed to hive the water system extended out to his place and would do the necessary work. It was because of his attitude in the segregation suit that Mr. Peterson met this rebuff.
