Show TRAIN RUNS INTO THE RIVER Nearly One Hundred Lives Lost as Result of Washout on the National Road in Mexico. Mexico City. Between seventy-Are and 100 persons were reported killed or drowned Monday morning when an express train of the National railroad plunged into the Maucsac river, owing to the bridge hav.'ng been washed out by a flooded stream. The exact number of dead will never be known, as many bodies were washed down the stream and lost. At least thirty are still buried in the wreck at the bottom of the river. The Red Cross relief train arrived at the scene of the accident Monday night, but there was nothing for the nurses to do. Not a survivsr of the wreck has been located and it Is believed be-lieved that all the passengers and crew of the train perished. Several Americans are known to have been passengers on the ill-fated train. . 1 |
