Show OBITUARY. ! John Gledhill departed this life at 5 o'clock on the morning of Feb. 2, 1909, aged 78 years 3 mouths 22 days. He died from heart trouble, after an illness of only a few days, passing away quietly, surrounded by members mem-bers of his family, kind freinds and neighbors. Deceased was the eon of Jrtmes Gledhill anrl Malley BucLley,and was born iu Crompton, Lancashire, England, Eng-land, Oct. 8. 1830. He was reared in the Latter-day Saint faith, to which he remaiued firm until death. " He has been a resident of Gunnison for the past 36 years and has been a faithful and useful member of this ward. For 16 years be held the po tion as janitor of the R S. Hall. He leaves two daughters, Mary G. Openshaw of Santaquin, and Martha A. Bywater of this city, besides 12 grand children and 8 great-grand children, to mourn the loss of a kind father and grand father. Funeral was held from the R. S. Hall on Friday afternoon, Feb. 5, 1909 and was largely attended by relatives and friends The Speakers were Elders Austin Kearus and John Lar sou. Most beautiful sentiments were read by Bishop Joseph Christenson and Sister Sena Fredrickson. The cortege whioh followed the remains re-mains to the cemetery was unsually large. The remains were laid to rest in a beautiful casket, and interred in the Gunnison cemetery beside those of his wife who passed to the great beyond four j ears ago. He leaves three sisters. Margaret Dnffin of this city, Elizabeth Broad-bent Broad-bent and Sarah A. Buckley of Provo. and one brother, Nephi, of this city, who is now laooring as a missionary in England. |
