Show WILLARD SNYDER. The American triumph on Tuesday last was M more due to Willard Snyder than any other one M man. He did more to organize the campaign, to 1 raise the necessary campaign expenses, to have the city canvassed, to provide and keep in work- ing order the election machinery, and to hold the j forces up against the enemy than any other one man. He was captain on the bridge when necessary, neces-sary, or up in the mainyard crowding on more sail, or down in the fire room rushing in more coal. He was irrepressible, ubiquitious, wherever j needed he was there, his toil was incessant, his en- , thusiasm inexhaustible and contagious. Whatever What-ever spoils of war other champions claim, to ' Willard Snyder should be given the flag. |
