Show THE MURRAY CAR. A man whose business takes him every morning morn-ing to Murray, and whose home requires his return re-turn every evening, says that almost every evening even-ing 85 people are packed in the car and that others are left who can find no place to cling to on the car. Said he: "Last night, when every bit of available space was utilized, our car was forced to pass without stopping two women, who, with babies in their arms, had then been standing by the track for twenty minutes." This, certainly is not first-class service. It would seem to one who knows nothing of the great mystery which surrounds the management of a street car system, that as a means of profit if not as a menace of humanity, the company I would run down a couple of trailers with their full load in the morning, leave those trailers at Murray until the evening rush and then bring them loaded home. |
