Show H I,!- H have been cut through from east to west and three I from north to south. These streets were imme- I diately bi ought to grade, and since the opening of B the Heights a great deal of money has been ex- I pended in keeping them in first-class shape. Five- H foot cement sidewalks are included among the im- H provements put in and in addition, gas mains, elec- H i trie lights, water mains, sewers and drainage are H , In and completed throughout the entire subdi- H vision. Over $100,000 has been expended in cash H s in these improvements by Ashton and Jenkins, H and the work is still going on. The various lots H have each a frontage of approximately forty-two H feet and a depth of one hundred and thirty to al- I leys. One of the most important features of the H selling plan of Liberty Heights is that all lots are sold under a building restriction of $2,500, elim- inating from the Heights the possibility of cheap H and unsightly houses being erected, the erection H of apartment houses, stores or business buildings H,h of any kind, insuring to those who buy and build H homes there, a district exclusively for modern M residences. H'' Ashton and Jenkins, the owners of Liberty H Heights, have in a few years risen to a very prom- H inent position among local real estate dealers and H home builders. Edward E. Jenkins is president of H , the company and Edward M. Ashton, secretary and H treasurer. The concern is capitalized at $100,000, H every dollar of which is paid up. The company's M assets are more than a quarter of a million. Since H r Its organization the company has made a specialty M of buying close in property valuable for modern H homes, and at no time has it catered to specula- B . tors or to a speculative market. In the last few H years it has purchased the majority of the close- D' in property available for building lots and has made a specialty of purchases on the east bench M as far south as the Country club. |
