Show basloQ flatlet Itebtei9. Juno 11, 1902. Business on the Salt Lake Exchange has continued very light during the past week. Yesterday 29,280 shares of stock changed hands at a total valuation valua-tion of $10,059.55. The week compares quite favorably favor-ably with the record of the corresponding week two years ago, while last year at this time there was a bi" boom in the stocks and most of them sold at from three to live times their present prices. Buying orders do not come in any more rapidly than they did a week or so. ago and it would be hard to predict when the change will come but come it certainly will and then those who have bought on the market when prices are low, as they are now, will be able to dispose of their purchases at very much higher figures. The public is waiting for the change to come then they will buy and will probably wait until the next slump before they decide to let go of thier stock. There is not a great deal of profit in this kind of dealing. The successful stock investor inves-tor is the man who invests during the slump or at the bottom of it and then lays his stock away and forgets it until the market has changed so that he can get a nice margin from his investment. There is considerable activity in the different mining camps of the state. All the mines of importance import-ance in Tintic District are working with good forces of men and many of them have good outlays of ore on their dumps awaiting better prices for the ores. With the present smelter and freight rates, a reasonably reas-onably good price for the metals would place a number num-ber of the Tintic properties among the ranks of the dividend payers. A good strike of Horn Silver ore was found on the 1,000 foot level of the Lower Mammoth Mine. The ore is very rich and easy of treatment and it is thought that with a little drifting the company will find that they have a good body of it. The same vein was crossed on the Higher levels and it has widened with depth. Indications are that the vein crosses into Ajax ground also and they will probably come in for a share of the riches. Con. Mercur steadily inmproved during the week. The "reliable" stamp seems to stick to this proposition, proposi-tion, and it is regarded as one of the best investments invest-ments on the board. The Carisa company is working its property with a force of fifty-nine men and more than enough ore is being shipped to pay expenses. The reported strikes in the Tetro are, according to the management, manage-ment, showing up well. In all sixty-four carloads of ore came from Tintic District last week. Ajax, Bullion Beck, Carisa, Gemini, Mammoth, Grand Central, South Swansea and Yankee Con. were among the foremost of these. Small shipments came from various smaller properties proper-ties last week. It is stated on good authority that the concentrator concen-trator plant at the Daly-Judge property is to be increased to double its present capacity. Dividends should be coming from tiiis property by the close of this year. The stock can be had in small blocks at from $7.50 to $8 a share. A career as great as that of the Daly West or other of the Park City properties is predicted for it. A strike is reported from the Albion which -ran 01 ounces silver, 30 per cent lead and $4.00 in gold por ton. If the quantity is as good as the quality, the company has struck a bonanza. Good concentrating concen-trating ore is being found on the 300 foot level of the Comstock and everything indicates that a good body of ore will bo encountered within 50 feet. The management is very encouraged over the outlook. The reorganization of the California company under the laws of Nevada is an assured thing. The stock is being deposited in the National Bank of the He-public He-public of this city and as soon as 200,000 shares of stock are in the transfer will bo made. Tho new company will give share for share of the new stock for the old. The difference will be that the now stock can and will bo assessed whereas tho old could not. Stops will be made at once to wipe out tho indebtedness. indebted-ness. There has never been any question as to the worth of the property and when they once get on their feet again, the stock will sell for many times ts present price. Silver King and Daly West have paid their dividends divid-ends of $1 and 40 cents a share, respectively, and the Ontario will pass around its quarterly 30 cents on tho 20th. Daly West and Ontario should bo purchased at these figures. The Honerine Mine lias suspended work once moro after putting in $100,000 in pumps. The water was more than they could handle and unless some of tho adjoining properties that are benefited by the drain come in for a share of the expenses, the mine will stay closed indefinitely. It would take another $100,000 to get the properties properly drained. The shutting down of the Honerine was quite a blow to the mining industry in Stockton. The stock of the Majestic Mining & Smelting Company has been in tho usual demand this week and prices continue about the same, stock selling at $2.50. Sunshine has been held at steady prices with a tendency to improve. We will take pleasure in answering personal .queries at any time regarding any property or stock.
