Show "EXACTLY SO." (From the Providence Journal.) The Brooklyn Eagle prints an interminably long article from a staff correspondent at Esopus, the rural home of the Democratic candidate for President, purporting to give the "true and exaot" history of Judge Parker's famous gold telegram to ! "Blue Eyed Billy" Sheehan. The editorial deduc- i tion from the mass of words is that the candidate j acted without consultation with "a single sOul," without prearrangement, and without the full j knowledge of his representatives at St. Louis. No claim is made that Judge Parker did. not tak a swim, a horseback ride, a glance at the New York newspapers and a long look at himself before sending the telegram. |
