Show Tropic Hews . By Lynn Munson 679-8627 Dylan Wade Ramsay, son of Wade and Sheri Linn Ramsay of American Fork, was blessed by his father in the Tropic LDS Ward sacrament meeting. Family members mem-bers here were proud grandparents Clare and May Lee Ramsay, Vance and Jeanene Pollock and family, Martin and Carla Ramsay and family, fam-ily, and Dennis and Brenda Shake-spear Shake-spear of Kanab. Also attending were Farel Sorenson and Charlene and Elyse Rowley of Cedar City and Carl and Diana Johnson of Monroe who were all here to share the happy hap-py event. Dixie Shakespear and Lynn Munson were hostesses for the Family Home Evening group, where there were nine altogether, including new member Janet Pollock. Pol-lock. Last week Jack and Mae Chyn-oweth Chyn-oweth returned home from the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City where Jack received a pacemaker for his heart. All their children, Evan, De-ana, De-ana, Christine and Randa and their spouses were with them during the first critical week. Mae was able to attend the wedding of granddaughter Heather Ott to Bryan Haight at the St. George LDS temple before returning re-turning to Salt Lake City. Everyone Every-one is happy that Jack is home and doing so well. Berdell and Carma Barton spent a week working in the St. George LDS temple. They also visited Jared and Mindy Barton and children in Cedar City. For a month, Lillis Francisco had daughters and sons-in-law Anita and Paul Iverson and Deann and Keith Adams home on the weekends, week-ends, while elk hunting. Not only a great family visit but a successful hunt, too. Lillis will now spend a week with daughter Pat Dotson and her family in Bagdad, Ariz. LaMar and Ethel LeFevre have ' stayed very busy since their cruise. Ethel spent a week in St. george with her sister Margene Moore. Two days after they got home, they headed for Salt Lake City to represent Garfield County and the Garfield Travel Council at the Morris Travel Show. As soon as they return, they will go back to St. George where LaMar will have carpal tunnel surgery on his wrist. Lowell and Margaret Mecham have been in New Orleans where Lowell attended meetings for South Central Utah Telephone Association. Associa-tion. David and Kathryn Pollock spent several nights with sister Marian Allen and family in Orem. . David and school meetings to attend in Salt Lake City. Dixie Shakespear attended the funeral for Leland Marshall in Panguitch. She then went to the care center and visited with Sara Littlefield, Cora Shakespear, Elsie Goulding, Ruby Moore and others. Some 135 people from six western states and Utah attended Bonnie Miles' 8th Annual Winter Quilt Retreat at Rubys Inn. Themed "Quilting on the Edge of Time," the event provided new information, workshops, trunk and quilt demonstrations. Royal and Rella Alvey had daughter-in-law Ida Alvey and her friend Nancy Brunson of Lss Vegas stay for several days while they attended the quilt retreat. It was Escalante Stake Temple Day Saturday at the St. George temple. Attending from the Tropic Ward were Bishop Scott Barton and wife Marie, Eric and Tracy Syrett, and others. Orlan and Ferriland Ruesch attended the LDS temple with nephew Chandler Cutler. He is the son of Roger and Lydia Cutler and grandson of Ravse snd the late Pat Pollock. Ravae had all her daughters daugh-ters there for the special occasion. Earlier, Orlan and Ferriland visited sister 3nd brother-in-law Beverly and Russell Wright in Hurricane. Martin and Carla Ramsay and newlyweds Triessa and Brett Hep-worth Hep-worth decided going through the LDS temple would be a special way to celebrate Valentine's Day. Minnie Neilson and Florene Sudweeks were in Cedar City for a little shopping and lunch. Minnie was happy to be out for the drive and was grateful for those who remembered her during her recuperation. recu-peration. Ora Brinkerhoff has daughter Oretta Nomedal, Oretta's daughter Nicole and Nicole's daughter Lexis, all of Las Vegas, staying with her. All of the Brinkerhoffs were there to hear Elder Cody Brinkerhoff report his mission. |
