Show Junior Livestock Show Winners Announced PANGUITCH - Some 16 youth from Garfield County, attended the Southwest Junior Livestock Show in Cedar City showing three species of animals. ani-mals. Southwest Jr. Livestock Show Showing lambs were Jason Excell, Autumn Excell, Casey Christensen, McKenzie Christensen, Kelsey Christensen, Jacob Perkins, Jason Dalton, Devin Dalton, Karsten Josie, Luke Tebbs, Spenser Owens and Eddie Roundy. Jason and Autumn Excell placed in the top 10 in sheep , showmanship and Jacob Perkins placed second, in the junior division. Jacob Perkins had the 4 top lamb in the show. Showing hogs were Autumn Excell, Jacob Perkins and Brindy Josie. Jacob Perkins had the 4 top hog in the show and he placed sixth in hog showmanship, jr. division. His hog was took 3rd place in the carcass contest. Autumn Excell placed first in hog showmanship, intermediate division. She had the 5 top hog in the show and it placed 2 in the carcass contest. Autumn also won 3rd place overall in hog herdsmanship. Showing steers were Jason Excell, Ky Roundy, Kamron Roundy and Kase Roundy. Jason Excell had the 6 top steer in the show and place din the top five in steer showmanship. showman-ship. Jason Dalton was the third place overall winner in the individual indi-vidual livestock judging contest. Utah State Fair A week later, 13 students attended the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City. All the animals won blue ribbons, a prerequisite and were able to sell at the auction. auc-tion. Jacob won second place overall in hog showmanship, junior division. Showing steers were Jason Excell, Alex Nay and Jacob Perkins. They helped with the animal exhibits, telling kids and their parents about animals, foods and farming. They helped conduct con-duct a survey to see how much kids knew about farm animals, and where their food source comes from. Those participating participat-ing were Jason Excell, chapter president; John Zechlin, vice president; and other chapter officers Luke Tebbs, Karsten Josie, Jason Dalton, Devin Dalton and Spenser Owens.
