Show MUGUITGU NEWS By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearlroeyahoo.com Before any news, I want to apologize to Than and Gaylene Cooper for giving their son, Austin, away to his aunt and uncle. One of the advantages of being old is when you have "senior moments" most people forgive you. I was beginning to think that a lot of moms and dads spent a lonesome Christmas because I was receiving no news of who came home for the holidays. But finally one of my most reliable sources came through. Hilma Excell called to let me know that Bruce and Sue (daughter) Douglas from Richfield, Evan Excell and family from South Jordan, Devaur (Hilma 's brother) broth-er) and Darlene Talbot and their granddaughter from South Jordan all came to spend some time with her over the holidays. Hilma also reported that she has to go to the ball games all alone because her faithful companion Hilda Gardner is in Idaho spending some time with her son Harry and his family. (I don't think Hilma and Hilda ever miss a game when they are in town.) Steven Moore (my grandson) who is serving an LDS mission in the Bakersfield, Calif., area, wrecked on his bicycle and broke his left wrist. He had to have surgery and had a plate and four screws placed in his wrist. Deanna (Steve's mother) says he is doing fine, is back tracting, and really loves his mission area. Pete and Beverly (Roe) Peterson, Panaca, two daughters, daugh-ters, one granddaughter, a son and their exchange student from Japan Ayono, Brent and Barbara (Roe) Lewis and son, Cedar City, and Kevin and Deanna (Roe) Moore and their children gathered at the Roe home to help their dad, granddad, and great grandad (me), celebrate his 5080 birthday (50 spiritually, spiritual-ly, 80 physically), with homemade home-made ice cream (vanilla and raspberry) and yellow cake with chocolate icing. (All of the living liv-ing members of the Class of 40 are now 80). Panguitch Connections: A while back, Debra Frandsen was attending a class on Job Service counseling in Salt Lake City. Her instructor happened to be a good friend of her brother Lloyd Frandsen and when he learned of this relationship, he was teasing teas-ing Debra about being from Panguitch. A young man from England (Paul Birkbeck) was also taking the course and after class he came to talk to Debra to tell her that his mother-in-law Lori Bagley had relatives who were from Panguitch. It turns out that Lori was the daughter of Janice Heywood Bagley who was the daughter of Nell and Jim Heywood, former residents of Panguitch. Jim is the brother of Fanella (Heywood) Sevy, who is Debra's mother and still lives here in Panguitch. (I hope I have this straight). It seems this Panguitch Connection is gaining readers 'interest. I have more, but time and space forces me to save some for another time so if yours does not appear now, be patient. |
