Show Panguitch Hews By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 On a trip to Cedar City recently, we saw a herd of antelope grazing on a sagebrush flat. A beautiful site. There were many of the college students home for the holidays, as well as whole families. Those we saw were John and Carol Orton's family, Russell and Marilyn Bulk-ley's Bulk-ley's daughters and their families, and Tom and Kay Hatch's daughters and their families and Dan Harris. Elder Bronson Barton, son of Neal and Tammy Barton, is home from serving an LDS mission in Florida. Cache Miller, Nicole Reynolds, Lindsay Bremner, Wendy Woolsey, and Alleen Henrie were all home. Laurel and Louise Holman had daughters Susie and Michelle home. In the Panguitch LDS 4th Ward, Jeff Mack was ordained a teacher. Lynn and Pat Sagers were released from their positions and have moved away. Kevin and Melanie Heaton were sustained as teachers in the Primary and Cub Scouts. Royce and Pearl Walker's son and daughter-in-law were here visiting visit-ing from San Diego. Terry and Leola Henrie' s children and grandchildren grand-children came for the party honoring honor-ing his retirement. Elders Eric Sawyer and Issac Burrows reported their Independence, Independ-ence, Mo. and Raleigh, N.C. missions mis-sions in the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward. The youth speaker was Donann Hafen. On Dec. 31, a Panguitch LDS (See PANGUITCH on page 4-A) PANGUITCH (From Page 3-A) Stake Family New Year's Eve party was held in the Panguitch High School gym. This included games, dancing, a movie and fireworks outside, plus a great meal served to everyone. In the Panguitch LDS 3rd Ward speakers were Shanon Fischer and Elders Tyler Owens and Marc Hen-rie. Hen-rie. A musical number was performed per-formed by Bobbie Burningham. During the holidays, visitors at different times with Mamie Talbot were Alan and Mickey Talbot, Cleve and Tamra Weaver and children chil-dren C J and Kinzr lo and Pat and Megan Curtis and baby Colton Patrick. All were from the Cedar City area. The school district office building build-ing is beautifully refinished outside except for the north end and work is going forward on the inside. Maxine Crosby spent Christmas in Miiford with the Philip and Jaynell Bailey family. This past week Norm and Sheryl Crosby of Pleasant Grove were visitors at Maxine's. They all went to Tropic to her sister's home for dinner and visiting. Dan and Florence Frandsen had their kids home for the holidays. David and wife from Denver, Colo.; Danny and Teresa from Minersville and Jared and his wife from' up north. Bob and Ina Hanks were happy to have their children home. There was son Bob and wife Caitlin and children Jake and Lily of Yuma, Colo.; and daughter Debby , and husband, Dennis Stroller and children chil-dren Kevin and Keri from Tigard, Ore. All four Panguitch LDS wards switched times for their meetings beginning Jan. 2, 2000. John and Tina Riggs were at the birth of a grandson, Bryan Eugene Nicholas. He was born Dec. 24 to Bryan and Crystal Nicholas and had , an older brother, Jeffrey at home to welcome him. His aunts, Kayla and Candi were also there to wel-come wel-come him. Grandparents are the late Eugene and Irene Nicholas. ; Great-grandparents are Bill . and Sarah Kay of Panguitch and the late ' Mayo and Erna Riggs. As a special ' treat, the little boy was born on his . great-grandma Kay's birthday. Ken and Emma Ahlstrom , re- 4 ported that they attended the funeral services of Bob Evans in Hender1 ' son, Nev. on Dec. 28, 1999. Bob, was the husband of Beth Cherring: . ton formerly of Panguitch. They j own the Cherrington family homei at 51 E. 100 N. He died on Dec!'; 22 and was buried in the Palm i View Memorial Park Cemetery in,'' Henderson. Also attending froro Panguitch were Maloy and Caro) -Dodds. |
