Show I Boulder Hews A couple of good citizens submitted sub-mitted just a little blurb on the community of Boulder as we head into the year 2000. A weekly columnist col-umnist is still badly needed for the ' Boulder community if anyone' would like to take on that public, service for the year. '. Boulder ushered the old year out"' with a literal bang as the LDS' church sponsored family evening ort Friday in honor of the New Year. Games were played and a delicious' Mexican dinner was served. Tradn' tional chili beans were served up by, Karla Roundy, Gladys LeFevre, Laura Fischer and Evonne Roundy. At 11:30 p.m. hot cider was served at the Boulder Town Hall. Families gathered around a roaring ' ' bon fire to enjoy midnight fire- ' works that were set off atop', Schoolhouse Ledge by Dr. lohn'', (See BOULDER on page 3-A) BOULDER (From Page 2-A) Austin. The spectacular color lasted for nearly 45 minutes. Many residents in town were able to enjoy the show through their livingroom windows. I The youth of the community re- j turned to the LDS church to break a i huge traditional pinata made by ! Gloria Holladay. The celebration j ended at 2 a.m. with the teenagers consuming overflowing dishes of i ice cream. Youth chairman for the church event was Angela Fischer. Bill Cox and Gladys LeFevre are the presidents of the Young Men and Young Women's organizations of the LDS church. LDS Bishopric ; members Keith Gailey, Farlan Be-j Be-j hunin and Jack Lyman chaperoned ! the evening. Scoutmaster Steve ! Fischer set up and cleaned up the ! facilities and kept the activities going. |
