Show Quin Ne wb v CIRCLEVILLE Our devoted and beloved husband, father and grandfather, Quin Newby, 67, passed away at his home in Circleville Cir-cleville from heart failure on Apr. 21, 1999. He was born Sept. 10, 1931 in Monroe to Hugh S. and Harriett LeFevre Newby. He married Mary Lou Campbell June 1, 1954 in Logan. She preceded pre-ceded him in death on Sept. 23, 1975. Their marriage was sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on Sept. 29, 1989. He married Tracy Gardner on Aug. 10, 1979 in Enterprise. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple on Sept. 29, 1989. Quin was a graduate of Marys-vale Marys-vale High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree and Administrative Certificate from Utah State University. He was a classroom teacher for 18 years and was principal at Valley High School in Orderville and at Piute High School for a total of 20 years. Education has always been a priority prior-ity as indicated by his dedication to the many young people that he greatly influenced. Quin was also a Piute School Board member for four years and served on the Sevier Valley Technology Tech-nology Center board for four years. He has been a winning and exemplary exem-plary coach for 38 years. He worked with anyone willing to play and taught them not only the skills of the game but how to be the very best person they could be. He was a member of the Utah High School Activities Association forysix years and was elected 1 A Principal of the Year in 1992-93 by the Utah State Coaches Association. Quin served honorably in the Air Force during the Korean conflict con-flict and attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. His country and community com-munity were of great importance as represented by his dedication to serve at a moments notice. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He loved his family and valued his time with each of them. His example of hard work, dedication, dependability, and honesty will long be reflected in those he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife Tracy and his children: JoLynne (Ronald) Holdaway, Jeanne Brady, Jan Marie (TaSele) Tiatia, Quin Tyson, Colby Dexter, Rich Brady, Rhett Kelsey, Shad Quincy and Tracy Cash Newby; 11 grandchildren; grandchil-dren; brothers and sisters: LaVar (Barbara) Newby, Treva (Glen) Cates, John (Glena) Newby, Teora J Q t Quin Newby (Dewey) Willis, Larene (Robert) McCoard, Pat (Howard) Jones, Ruth (Gerald) Gates, Callie (Ralph) Clark; and sister-in-law Ruth Newby. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Lou; daughter Amber Newby; grandson TaSele Tiatia, Jr., and brother Calvin Newby. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Apr. 24 in the Circleville 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Roger Donahue officiating. The family prayer was offered by Lincoln Lin-coln Crofts and prelude and postlude music was played by Sheree Fullmer. Full-mer. Dean Gardner offered the invocation in-vocation and Charlene Dalton and Terecea Westwood sang "How Great Thou Art." A tribute was given by Ferrill Heaton and Charlene Dalton and Terecea Westwood sang "Because I Have Been Given Much." Clayton Marshall was a speaker and remarks were made by Bishop Roger Donohue. Jimmy Cooper sang "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You." The benediction was offered by John Newby. Pallbearers were sons Quin Tyson Ty-son Newby, Colby Dexter Newby, Rich Brady Newby, Rhett Kelsey Newby, Shad Quincy Newby, and Tracy Cash Newby. Honorary pallbeares were sons-in-law Ronald K. Holdaway and TaSele Tiatia; brothers LaVar Newby and John Newby; and grandsons grand-sons Buck Brady, Matthew Brady, Marcus Tidtia;'and Benjamin Tiatia. Interment was at the Circleville Cemetery with military rites by the VFW Piute Post 7561. The dedication dedi-cation of the grave was offered by Randy Johnson. Funeral directors: Neal S. Ma-gleby Ma-gleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. Richard Bruce Owens PANGUITCH Richard Bruce Owens, 69, of Panguitch, passed away Apr. 20, 1999 in St. George. He was born Mar. 28, 1930 in Murray to David Kern and Grace Beckstrom Owens. He married Verna Arlee Holman on May 17, 1951 in the St. George LDS Temple. Tem-ple. Bruce was a graduate of Panguitch Pan-guitch High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. He graduated from Utah State University where ,he received his teaching certificate. He moved to Panguitch where he taught , school and served as principal of the elementary ele-mentary for 31 years. In 1986, he moved to St. George where he managed a Super 8 Motel for six years. He moved back to Panguitch and worked at the Texaco station until recently. He was. a member of the LDS Church where he served as first counselor under Kendall Brinkerhoff in the Panguitch North Ward and served as a High Councilman in the Panguitch Stake. He is survived by his wife Verna of Panguitch; two sons and four daughters: Julie (Joe) McMul-lin, McMul-lin, Washington; Jill (Bob) McCul-lough, McCul-lough, Panguitch; Jann (Jim) Hoyt, Orderville; Jean (Denny) Orton, Panguitch; Mark (Natalie) Owens and Micah (Angie) Owens, all of St. George; 27 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; father, Davis Kern Owens, Panguitch; brother and two sisters: David LaGene (Kaye) Owens, Mesa, Ariz.; Susan (Calvin) Allred, Wilcox, Ariz.; and Caroline Parkinson, Salt Lake City; brother-in-law Herman J. Houston. He was preceded in death by his mother; a sister, Norma Kay Houston; Hous-ton; a son, Mitchell Kern Owens; a grandson, Joseph McMullin, Jr.; and a son-in-law, David Veater. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Apr. 24 in the Panguitch 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. The family prayer was offered by his father, David Kern Owens and prelude music, mu-sic, "O My Father," was played by Faun Guillette. Caroline Parkinson, a sister, of- Bruce Owens fered the invocation and grandchildren grandchil-dren sang "Well Done," accompanied accompa-nied by Pam Yardley. A tribute was given by Kay Hatch; memories of dad were given by his daughters and a tribute was given by son Micah Bruce Owens. Jill Hoyt, a granddaughter, sang "Always," accompanied by Pam Yardley. Remarks were made by a son, Mark Richard Owens and Elder Denny Orton, a son-in-law. The congregation sang "I Believe In Christ," accompanied by Faun Guillette and the benediction was offered by a sister, Susan Allred. Postlude music was played by Faun Guillette, "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Honorary pallbearers were Rhett Veater, Renn Veater, Carson Hoyt, Jared McMullin, Casey McCul-Iough, McCul-Iough, Dusty Orton, Garrett McCullough, Marvin Hoyt, Riley McMullin, Cassidy McCullough, Owen Hoyt, Kade McMullin, Nick Hoyt, Cole Owens, Dallin Owens, and Austin Veater. Flower girls were granddaughters. Interment was at the Panguitch City Cemetery with military rites by the Panguitch American Legion Post 25.
