Show Tropic News By Louise Ott 679-8776 Mae and Jack Chynoweth attended at-tended funeral services for Anita Milne in St. George. She is their daughter Christine's mother-in-law. Eva and Larvin Pollock and Jerry and Carol Pollock were in Salt Lake City for a doctor's appointment ap-pointment at the VA hospital for Jerry. They also attended a wwed-ding wwed-ding in Centerville for Eva's neice. On the way home, they stopped in Orem to visit Eva and Larvin' s daughter Marianne and bring home granddaughter Kay lee for a visit. Larvin reports that they have really enjoyed having her here. Wade Ramsay brought his daughter Taylor for his parents Clare and Mary Lee Ransay to have for a while. He and wife Sheri Lyn attended some out-of-town meetings. meet-ings. Clare, Mary Lee and Taylor visited in Kanab with daughter Brenda, and husband Dennis Shakespear and family. They reported re-ported that granddaughter Jayce is growing up fast. Shirley Haycock was out and about in town and says that she is doing fantastic. Gloria Hayden has made the move to Tropic. We are glad to have you in our midst. Rod and Kathern Syrett spent a week visiting daughter Sheila and husband T.J. Johnson in Pittsburgh, Pitts-burgh, Penn. Fred and Tonya Syrett were in Denver, Colo, on business. Attending the wedding of Ryan Shakespear and Erin Fagergren was Erin's brother Jeremy and wife Heather from Provo. Also attending attend-ing was Donna's sister Marilyn Rainey from San Diego, Calif. Margaret's parents Marion and Joseph Jo-seph Nielson from Big Water, New Mex., two sisters, Ruby Conlin from Soda Springs, Ida. She visited her husband Carl in Kentucky and also their children. This week, her, parents, David and Peg Clarke, Ow-ingsville, Ow-ingsville, Kent, and her sister Francis and husband Roland Bell of Benton, Kent, are all visiting. They came on Thursday and will stay through Sunday. Mary took them to see Bryce and Zion. Chris Williams of Beaver, daughter of Faye Pollock, visited in Tropic. Chris's family was here, also. Ronnie and Raymond Brinker-hoff Brinker-hoff ran away for a day to Cedar City for an enjoyable day together after a busy summer to celebrate Ronnie's birthday. The Garfield School district's fourth graders gathered at Bryce Valley for a festival-type event called Utah: Past and Present Native Na-tive America. They learned about their lives and had a lot of workshops.. work-shops.. Their were teaching groups from Southern Utah University, Fremont Indian State Park, Capitol Reef, and Bryce Canyon. Duztin Sorensen helped to set up a teepee and also performed a Native American Ameri-can hoop dance. A Piaute family from Richfield also performed. Bryce Valley fourth grade teacher Vicki Syrett felt that it was a very successful event and that all that contributed to its success. Mary and Wallace Ott, along with sister's Agnes Littlefield and Sara Littlefield attended funeral services for Gam Olsen last Monday. Mon-day. Stan and Louise Ott met Lay-ton Lay-ton Ott in Beaver and went with him to the funeral. It was great riding with someone and letting them do the-driving. Minnie Neilson had eye surgery sur-gery in Panguitch. Glenna Pollock took her over. Sandrea Francisco took her mother Eva Dean to a doctors appointment ap-pointment in St. George. Travis and Tammy Shakespear and daughters Kaylea and Tasha visited with Tammy's parents, Jay and Barbara Bowman in Delta, Colo, last weekend. They also saw Tammy's sister Janae, husband Kenny Stratton and kids; sister Crystal and daughter Billie Dawn; Stacy Chynoweth and sister Heather, and sons Dillon and Jay-den. Jay-den. Adam Bales also traveled with them to see friend Stacy for the weekend. Machelle Pollock went with her mother Barbara Leach of Panguitch Pan-guitch to Salt Lake City for the weekend. Travis and Cheryl LeFevre have finished off their home with some wood siding and are also sporting a new car. Mary LeFevre said that daughter Lori and husband Bill Eddy and family are moving back to Tropic. Welcome home. All of the college students are going back to school for fall quarter. |
