Show Library Board Highlights Accomplishments For 1999 PANGUITCH - The Gar-fieldPanguitch Gar-fieldPanguitch Library Board of Trustees recently submitted their annual report to county commissioners commis-sioners of accomplishments in the library system in 1999 to Garfield County Commissioners. All three county librarians Ray Christian, Escalante; Donna Os-born, Os-born, Panguitch; and Kent Osborn with the traveling bookmobile; received Library Technology Services Serv-ices Act (LTSA) grants in 1999. The three librarians culled their book collections with the Garfield County Bookmobile librarian placing plac-ing emphasis on his picture book collection. The Panguitch Public Library librarian placed emphasis on her adult fiction collection and the Escalante Public Library librarian librar-ian worked on his entire collection. The Escalante Public Library received re-ceived $7,500 which was spent for a computer and Winnebago library software. Christian held a Literacy Program Pro-gram for children in that area. He also attended the training workshop in Richfield and all of the library staff of the three libraries received internet training at their respective libraries, from Pat Montgomery and Jane Smith. The Panguitch Public Library received $3,940 which was used to purchase a computer, monitor, scanner, color printer and Word (See LIBRARY on Page 5A) LIBRARY From Front Page Perfect software. The Garfield County Bookmobile Book-mobile Library received $4,500 which was spent for a lap top computer com-puter to be used on the bookmobile. bookmo-bile. The grant also helped pay for the Jaz backup system in the Bookmobile Headquarters. The Panguitch City Library and the Garfield County Bookmobile Library each held a summer reading program with a total of 205 children chil-dren participating and a total of 1,098 hours reading reported. The Panguitch City Library also held a weekly story time during the summer months with an average of 23 children in attendance each week. Two book sales were held dur: - |
