Show Toys For Needy Kids Sought As Big Trees At Bryce Light Up BRYCE For the first time ever, it will be "Lights On" at -6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 as the two giant pine trees at the intersection of Highway 12 and its junction with the road to Bryce Canyon National Park twinkle with lights to welcome the Christmas season. Well over 50 feet tall, the majestic old trees are expected to serve as a Christmas beacon to usher in the Christmas season, reminding not only county residents, but also the park's many visitors from afar, of the special season. The free totally non-profit event is planned to benefit needy Garfield County families with children. Those attending the lighting ceremony are asked to bring a new toy for a child or a donation. Any toys or funds not used locally will be donated to "Toys For Tots." The event will feature musical entertainment and a "Free Hayride With Santa Claus" for youngsters. There will be free hot dogs and drinks for everyone in the crowd. High school choir members from the area will participate under the direction of Paul Hathcock.
