Show V I 1 .5" jF" " fcf tf " fc Bll The Panguitch High School wrestling team has had a banner year, with 11 wrestlers qualifying for state competition tomorrow in Cedar City. Team members include (front row) Danny Young, Jeremy Poll, Zach Decker) Shawn Worthen; (second row) Nick Stewart, Trevor Frandsen, Isaac PANGUITCH Eleven Panguitch High School wrestlers will take part in the state tournament tourn-ament set for Friday and Saturday Cedar City after competing successfully success-fully in Region 15 finals at Enterprise Enter-prise where the team placed third, after Wayne's first place and Piute's second. The team had also placed second on Jan. 19-20 at the Page, Ariz. Invitational where 22 teams attended, mostly from 4A and 5A schools in Arizona. Panguitch coach Frank Houston was named the Most Outstanding Coach at the Enterprise Region 15 finals. Burrows, Lance Sawyer, Chad Olstrom, Colin Marshall, Coach Frank Houston, Char Sanders, Marc Henrie, Jeff Barney, Casey McCullough, Josh So per , Christy Nay, Jeremiah Boger, Steven Fischer, Steven Hatch, Jeff Loo per, Chris Smith, Brandon Henrie, Heath Hatch, and Phil Singleton. Eleven Panguitch Wrestlers Qualify For State Tournament Starting Feb. 2 At Page, after the first day of wrestling, Panguitch was in second place with 13 wrestlers still in the tournament. The team did extremely extreme-ly well the second day in heavy competition and finished the day with six wrestlers still in place. Brandon Hathcock took fifth place; Isaac Burrows and Jeremy Poll, fourth; Colin Marshall, Steven Fischer and Steve Hatch took second, with the team finishing second overall. As well as a large trophy for their second place win, Heath Hatch brought home a trophy for the quickest pin of the tournament, a nine-second victory. At the Region finals, Colin Marshall took a first place; Steve Fischer, Brandon Hathcock, Jera-miah Jera-miah Boger, Jeff Barney and Isaac Burrows each placed second; Jeremy Poll and Steven Hatch, third; and Danny Young, Heath Hatch and Jeff Cooper, fourth. Alternates for state competition are Brandon Henrie, Erin Houston, Jimmy Stewart and Lance Sawyer. Overall points at Enterprise were Wayne 267, Piute 226 and Panguitch Pan-guitch 168. |
