The road win for coaches Curtis Barney and Scot Christenss was, perhaps, their finest all-around game of the year. Piute had upset the Lady Cats the week before, and Janae Klein, Ginger Hatch, Pepper Hatch and Mindy Hulet; and, back row, Curtis Barney (coach), Jennifer Bulkley, Alesha Richards, Amanda Talbot, Catherine Howard, Carla Farnsworth, Jenny Poll, and Scot Christensen (coach). Not shown, Sloane Houston. PHS Girls Head For State Tournament Wayne then dropped Piute. That set up the importance of this league win for PHS. The Lady Cats jumped out to a 17-10 first quarter lead and held it at 30-24 at the half. The big 22-point third period, however, was the key to their win. Some great team play, sparked by point guard Ginger Hatch, sent the Lady Cats into the state finals in Delta to be played next week. Hatch dished off to Jenny Poll, who was again great with 23, while Ginger hit for 14 herself. Sophomore Sopho-more Jenny Bulkley hit double figures fig-ures with 10 in one of her best shooting games. The girls are looking forward to some challenging competition at next week's finals in Delia. |
