Show EscqlantQ Hews By Marlene Haws 826-4859 Doyle and Thelma Cottam spent a week touring Texas, Mexico, and other places of interest. Doyle spent two years on an LDS Mission Mis-sion in the San Antonio, Texas area quite a number of years ago. He was fascinated to see all the changes that had taken place. They went with Jim and Rose Caldwell, who now spend most of their time in St. George. Darlene Pierce went to Torrey, where she met the Reynolds group: Dale and Vivian, Orem, Glade, Richfield, and each one of them brought their neighbors. All together to-gether there were seven couples. They had planned a weekend of four-wheeling, but the weather was so cold and windy they were only able to ride for about an hour-and-a-half. So instead they went on a tour through Mexican Hat, Arches National Park," Valley of the Gods, etc. They had fun in spite of the weather. Jim and Lola Alvey came from Mapleton to get Jim's Mother, Fay Alvey. She had a doctor appointment appoint-ment in Provo and will stay for a few days. Jim and Lola also visited Eva Dean Liston while they were here. Janalee Bernardo and Eva Dean Liston spent a day in Panguitch visiting with Melba Brooks. Beryl Shurtz is in the Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch. Dan Tucker has been quite ill for the past month. Part of his family came last week, packed his and Dorothy's belongings and took them both back to Colorado. The families of Arvonne Whit-taker, Whit-taker, Washington City, and Lana Jordan, Duchesne, came to spend a few days and help their mom, Iona Alvey, celebrate her birthday. Arden and MaeVon Taylor are home from Phoenix, Ariz., for the summer. Haven't seen them yet. They must be trying to keep warm since it turned winter again. Dale and Lillian Lyman made a trip to Richfield, where Dale had surgery. Coy Porter came from Provo to help his father, Ben, do some more remodeling on the house. Renee Porter is still walking quite carefully. care-fully. She had surgery on her back a couple of weeks ago. |
