Show Fireworks Are Not Allowed In Forest Dixie National Forest officials are reminding people that fireworks are not allowed in the National Forest. For-est. "We expect a lot of folks to celebrate the Independence Day weekend by visiting the Dixie, but they'll have to leave fireworks home. They're a fire hazard that doesn't belong in the forest." says Ron Wilson, Acting Forest Supervisor. Super-visor. Forest officials say fire danger in the forest is high. The snow-pack snow-pack has melted and temperatures are rising. At lower elevations, rains in May brought a lush growth of cheatgrass that has cured now and is ready to burn. ' Wilson also reminds forest visitors visi-tors to not leave campfires unattended, unat-tended, and to make sure they're dead out. |
