Show Commissioners Meet For First Meeting Of 1996 County Attorney Wallace Lee prepared a resolution for the commissioners com-missioners to sign regarding the new county drug policy and procedures. Lee said the policy was reviewed by Drug Enforcement Agency personnel and the only language that needed to be added was concerning the Americans With Disabilities Act. County Engineer Brian Bremner, who was out-of-town, had previously requested that the county be allowed to join a drug consortium which would take care of all aspects of implementation of the drug policy from selecting testees, to testing and evaluation. The cost is approximately $55 per county employee. Commissioner Clare Ramsay motioned to adopt the resolution and allow Bremner to make the commitment. Moore also said she had placed an item on the agenda for the next commission meeting where commissioners com-missioners could discuss and update board appointments, as well as special service district appointments. appoint-ments. Moore will make up a list of board assignments and what needs to be done before the next meeting. Commissioners also discussed dis-cussed that there may be some upcoming vacated positions, from Bryce Valley and Antimony, on the planning and zoning commission Clare offered to meet with folks in Bryce Valley for a suggestion of a board replacement and to meet with Les to see who will be vacating positions. Moore had one final change order to be signed off on for the (See Commissioners Meet For First Meeting Of 19 Page 4 A) Commissioners: First Meet Of 1996 From Page 1 Bryce Canyon Airport to complete the project. Moore, Commissioner Commis-sioner Maloy Dodds, and Attorney Wallace Lee spent a day on the phone with architect Tom Gardner and contractor Lyn Thompson and everyone compromised and got it done. The contractors were paid for the brackets, the penalties were deducted Maloy said after talking with a subcontractor, they felt the changes in the roof and redesign had to be made and that responsibility lay with the architect. Moore said the brackets were $1800, the penalties were $3200. The contract price was reduced by a net of $1400. There are still two subcontractors remaining remain-ing who have discrepancies with the contractor and who will go through the courts to pursue the matter. |
