Show PcsnnoKch Kgvjs By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The sun shines part of the day, then snow blots out the landscape. Our snow doesn't get very deep, but oh, the cold wind! The coal and gas trucks are plying the roads of town often. In the Panguitch LDS 4th Wand sacrament meeting, the youth speakers were Landon Fullmer and Michael Foy. Recently returned missionaries Heath Hatch and Isaac Burrows reported their missions. "Silent Night" was rendered by Mike Davis, Steve Marshall, Mike Savage and Marilyn Marshall. From our missionaries in the field, Brandon Boshell wrote that one Brazilian lady told him "I have so much desire now to be the person per-son I wasn't before." Nick Stewart in Louisville, Kentucky, lives near Churchill Downs where the Kentucky Ken-tucky Derby is run. He wrote his mom and asked her to send his big green down coat because he is cold. Phil Blais in the Philippines was happy to bless a baby, a new experience expe-rience for him. Colin Marshall in Oregon wrote encouraging his mom not to feel sad when things are rough. He suggested she read about Joseph Smith being in jail so long. We hope Caleb Osborn in Argentina Argen-tina is able to contact the other two missionaries with Panguitch connections, con-nections, Preston Gilbert and Justin Talbot. Heather Osborn in Canada says it is getting colder, with snow. The seven missionaries there had Thanksgiving dinner with a member mem-ber family. The two DUP camps, Cornelia and Loyhova, had their December meeting together at the home of Julia Steele. Verda Oldham gave a history of the hymn "Far, Far Away on Judea's Plains" and Mary Harris gave the lesson on Pioneer Women Musicians. A lovely luncheon was served to 3 1 members and guests. Most all the LDS wards have held their Christmas parties. The (See PANGUITCH on Page 10-A) PANGUITCH From Page 4-A auxiliaries in some of the wards held parties, also. The Phil Singletons nearly have their new house enclosed with doors, windows and roofing. Chad and Michelle Black spent several days in St. George selling Christmas trees. We do have plenty of pinyon pine trees on our hills. Their school-age daughters divided the time between grandparents, Roger and Sherron Linford, and aunt Heather Mead. In the Panguitch LDS 3rd ward Sacrament meeting, Elder Luke Yardley was the speaker. Teresa Sawyer was the youth speaker and Pam Robison played a musical number. In the 2nd ward, Don and Barbara Excell Marshall reported their mission to Nauvoo, 111., where they worked with the Nauvoo Restoration group. As they left the mission it was announced that an LDS temple will be built there. Elder Jeff Cooper reported his Dakota Da-kota mission at the Extended Care Center sacrament meeting. In the 1st ward, Pam Yardley was sustained as organist, John Gillett as elders quorum president with counselors Nathan Chamberlain Chamber-lain and Shawn Parkin, and Adam Howard was ordained a priest. Clayton Miller, son of Russell and Natalie Miller, was baptized. Parker Lloyd Brinkerhoff, son of Lloyd and Kim Brinkerhoff, was born just in time to be greeted by his grandparents, Kendall and Marilyn Mar-ilyn Brinkerhoff, before they left for their New Zealand mission The Sam Dunhams have a new son. Julie Ann Keene, daughter of Paul and Cathy Woodard and the late Kenneth Keene, and Christopher Christo-pher Steven Rea were married in Henderson, Nev. on Nov. 13. They both teach, Julie in business education educa-tion in Las Vegas. Allen and Joann Miller went to Kanab for the blessing of Kim and Alleen Sherwood's two grandsons. Many of the Miller family were at the family home for Thanksgiving. Betty Cooper went north for the funeral of her mother. We express our love and sympathy to Betty and hpr familv Vaughn and Lenore Heaton had daughter Lori and family here visiting. visit-ing. Darin Moore and family were here with parents Keith and Sharon Moore. Lowell and Alice Henrie had son Richard and wife Bonnie and family and Val and Lorraine and family here. Caryl and Ray Englestead had Caryl's daughters Kathy and Car-lene Car-lene and families with them for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Bill and Judy Prince family have returned to their Panguitch home. The Desai family, who own the Marianna Inn on the north end of town, are building more units on the south side. |
