Margaret Mecham entertained the adult family home evening groups at her home on Monday evening. Violet Littlefield gave the lesson. LaRene Munson visited her daughter Joann Topham in Monroe and had an appointment with the eye doctor for new eyeglasses in Richfield. Several of the local people attended at-tended the art show in Panguitch. The art work and demonstrations were excellent. Chris Seiler visited with his parents par-ents over the weekend. He is attending at-tending Brigham Young University since returning from his LDS mission. mis-sion. Trevor Stewart is in Spain visit- ing and vacationing. Marie Niemann had surgery in Ogden and is home and recovering. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Mecham have a new granddaughter born in Salt Lake City to Scott and Jennifer Mecham. The baby has a little sis- ter at home to welcome her. The great-grandparents are the Malen Mechams. The Annual Scouting Horseback Pack trip was held over the past weekend with beautiful weather adding to the success. It is a great fun time for the adults and scouts who spent the time together riding, camping, storytelling and enjoying the beauties of nature in the lower country. The Tropic Visitor Information Center opened again this week on May 1. LaRene Munson, LaFaun Pollock and Dixie Shakespear will be the attendants and give out information in-formation on Garfield County to visitors. The annual Garkane. Power Association As-sociation meeting was held in the high school auditorium on April 28. A large crowd was present to hear the reports, elect Bill Nelson as the new board member from this area, and enjoy the prizes being given away. Ruth Baugh was the lucky winner of the television set given away donated by the Mutual of Omaha insurance company. The local EMTs gave blood pressure, sugar and blood oxygen tests to those desiring them. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn LeFevre, Las Vegas, Nev. spent the weekend with the LaMar LeFevres. Violet Littlefield visited with her daughters Renae Hodson and Christine Littlefield in Cedar City. Nell Wilson was in St. George for medical tests . Larry Adair took his mother, Ella Adair, to St. George to visit for a few days and to have her eyes checked. The Berdell Bartons visited their son Jared and family in Logan. |
