I -. . - - 1 ' " I , I s f: J I I ' ? i . u ; f ! . ; Mr. and Mrs. Silas Munson Munsons Celebrate 60 Years Together TROPIC Mr. and Mrs. Silas Munson of Tropic celebrated 60 years of marriage Wednesday with a special family dinner with their children. Sarah Irene Johnson married Silas Hubert Munson Aug. 24, 1928, at the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Their ceremony was performed by the late Joseph Fielding Smith. Mr. Munson was born in Cir-clevillc Cir-clevillc and his wife was born in Tropic. Mr. Munson worked at Ford Motor Company and at shipyards in the Long Beach, Calif., area during World War II, returning after the war to Tropic where he began fanning and ranching. He kept dairy cows up until retiring in his eighties. eight-ies. Mrs. Munson spent her married life as a homemaker and is rccog-ni7.ed rccog-ni7.ed for her special skills as a seamstress. Her special hobby is gardening and her flowers arc enjoyed en-joyed by everyone. Both have been active in the LDS Church, holding positions in the Tropic Ward since 1947 when they returned. He is 83 and she is 80. Their children are Donald Munson, Mun-son, Kearns; Verlyn Munson, Tropic; and Alan Munson, Las Vegas. |
