Show - 2 - a- w 'wwflsr " ; - i ' ( 1 i i f i I I I 1 I Ada and George Thompson It's 50 Years Together For George And Ada Thompson CANNONVILLE The children chil-dren of George and Ada Thompson will honor their parents as they celebrate cel-ebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house on Sunday, August 8 at the Cannonville LDS Ward from 3 until 5 in the afternoon. George and Ada were married at the St. George LDS Temple August Au-gust 25 1943 and have lived their entire married life in Cannonville where they have always been active in business, civic and in church affairs. af-fairs. George served 8 years as bishop, as stake mission president and in other church positions. He and Ada served a one year mission in Arkansas and two years as temple workers in St. George. George has always been in construction. con-struction. The Thompsons have been in business in Cannonville for the past 25 years. Before that, Ada helped her mother, Virginia Smith, operate her store in Henrieville until un-til she retired. Their children include Ann (Mrs. Tom) Reece, Las Vegas, Nev.; Guy, and his wife Beverly, Thompson, Thomp-son, Henrieville; Patty Jo Thompson Thomp-son Lutes, Las Vegas; Micki Sue (Mrs. Arnold) DeWalt, Kent, Wash.; Joe and Trish Thompson, Cannonville; Rachel (Mrs. Riley) Peeples, Las Vegas; Nellie (Mrs. Nick) Hadley, Cedar City; and George Ge-orge and Teresa Thompson, Cannonville. Can-nonville. George and Ada have 31 grandchildren grand-children and three great-grandchildren. Ada is making a quilt for each of her grandchildren, and thus far has competed 26. All friends and relatives are invited in-vited to attend the open house. |
