Show WORTHY MOTHER CALLE D WE mrs john J craner raner succumbs to pneumonia at dee hospital sunday d y funeral F today nai emily E 1 y lee L ee craner wife 0 of county commissioner john J craner died sunday morning at 10 at the dee hospital in ogden she had been afflicted with rheumatism tor for several months and had been bedfast since last october last friday she attempted to walk but fell and fractured the hip bone of 0 her left leg she was removed to the dee hospital where an xray picture was taken and the bone set get later she contracted pneumonia which resulted in her death mrs craner was born january 20 1861 at ae provo a daughter ot of the late john R and sarah goodman she grew to lovely womanhood there and was married to mr craner at the endowment house in salt lake city on december 23 ISSO the ceremony being performed by the late dan daniel I 1 e I 1 H wells mr and mrs craner resided at provo until 1883 aen they removed to colton where they were engaged in cattle raising hotel and general mercantile business it is said that no poor people ever went hungry and no sickroom sick room of 0 the village was ever forgotten by the kind and generous mrs craner who being blessed with an abundance contributed liberally to those in need taking her own linens and giving her time and attention to those afflicted all ministers regardless ot of air their religion were given a helping hand band and room at the hotel without cost to them by this good woman who was wag indeed a mother to the entire community A 15 months old baby boy was taken into the family and given the same tender love and care as their own children about the of 0 february 1910 mr and mrs graner craner removed to Corinne where they purchased a large farm and eattle eattie ranch mrs craner was also active in church work in the corinne ward being a teacher in the relief belief society they removed to brigham city about five years ago taking up their residence in the knudson apartments surviving are her husband john J craner of this city one daughter mrs sadie marble one son john thomas craner and twelve grand children all of corinne one brother wm 11 goodman ot of provo and one sister mrs hattie wright of ogden funeral services were held this morning at 11 at the first ward chapel under the direction of bishop abraham evans of the corinne ward the chapel was filled to capacity with relatives and friends and the floral offerings were numerous and beautiful the services opened by the choir singing resting now from care and sorrow invocation was offered by A M reeder followed by a duet softly beams the sacred dawning by mrs 0 G spencer and orville lund the speakers were alma jens en patriarch brigham wright pre thomas taylor of provo pres S norman lee lewis S pond ani and bishop abraham Abraha iii evans between speakers mrs spencer and mr lund sang a n duet land of endless day after the closing song it if the way be full of 0 trial weary not by the choir benediction was offered by ed gilbert of the corinne ward the body was shipped to provo this afternoon where interment will be made |
