Show beath CLA IMS A GOOD MOTHER services held yesterday for mrs N L hansen at first ward chapel impressive funeral services were heidl bield yesterday esterday y afternoon at 1 at the he first ward chapel for mrs dora madsen hansen wife of merchant N L hansen who died of pneumonia friday night at 1125 at the holy cross hospital in salt lake city the spacious auditorium of the chapel was tilled filled with friends and relatives who came out to pay their last respects to this good mother and there was a wealth of floral offerings bp abel S rich presided at the services with counselor chas N sheffield in charge which opened with the hymn sometime well understand by the choir invocation was offered by J M hess and the choir sang 1 I know that sly my redeemer lives condoling remarks were made by the following speakers mrs lorenzo anderson president of the ward relief society nels jenson S E bunnell of provo pres wm win C horsley bishop abel S rich and chas N sheffield between speakers ed lee sang the solo leave it to him after the closing song my father knows benediction edic tion was offered by F W rish fishburn burn mrs hansen was born at lake view near provo march 9 1875 a a daughter of the late peter and carline jensen madsen and was one of a family of nine children she grew to young womanhood at lake view attending the grade schools and was active in church work being a teacher in the sunday school and the Y L M 1 I A later she attended the brigham young university at provo in 1894 she removed to salt lake city where she was engaged in dress making on june 15 1889 1899 she was united in marriage to N L hansen at lake view bishop john johnson performing the ceremony following their marriage mr and I 1 sirs mrs hansen removed to brigham city where they have 0 resided resl dence here mrs hansen has also been active in church work laboring tor for a number of years in the primary and later in the relief society she was a real mother not only to her own children but also to many others who became acquainted with her she had artistic ability as evidenced by many paintings and art works in her home she went to salt lake with her children last september in order that they may enjoy the advantages of higher education her daughter lola being a student at the university of utah her health which had been poorly tor for some years past improved after going to salt lake and she was feeling fine until her recent attack of pneumonia january when she was as taken to the holy cross hospital where a special room and two private nurses were engaged to alleviate her suffering but on account of the severity of the attack she grew steadily worse until friday evening when she passed to the life beyond the body was brought to this city saturday evening by jesse W hoopes jr mrs hansen was the mother of six sh children two having preceded her in death surviving are her husband N L hansen han sen and tour four children as follows lola roma neal and jay ja hansen all of this city alos a number of brothers and sisters |
