Show Irving Aliens Will Note 50th Wedding Sunday CIRCLEVILLE An open house on Sunday, Jan. 18, will honor Mr. and Mrt. Irvln Allen, Cirdeville for their 50th wedding anniversary. The event will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Cirdeville Ward Relief Society room. All friends and relatives are invited. The couple was married Jan. 18, 1927, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and have lived in Cirdeville since. Mr. Allen has been agricultural inspector for the area the past 25 years. He served as Piute County Sheriff from 1927 to 1934. He filled an LDS mission to the Southern States from 1917 to 1922 and was a member of the Garfield Stake high council for 22 years. He has also held several other ward and stake assignments. Mrs. Allen has worked with local 4-H clubs for 31 years and was honored with a trip to the national 4-H congress In 1953. She served three terms on Utah State 4-H advisory council. Elected as Piute County Treasurer, she held this position 14 years. During this time she was elected vice chairman of the Utah State Association of County Officials. She served in the Garfield Stake Primary program for 13 years and was president for 10 years. She also served on the Panguitch Stake Relief Society board for five years. Both spend a good deal of time doing temple work. Since retirement, the couple has traveled extensively, Including trips to Alaska, Colorado. New York, California and other states. They are parents of five children: Mrs. Woodard (Guenavere) Sandberg, Cedar City; Irvin Bruce, Sandy; Mrs. J. Kyle (Sandra) Tebbs, Ttfmonton; Mrs. Jetta Brewer, Kenal, Alaska and Mrs. Keith W. (Mauna Lee) Proctor, Colorado Springs, Colo. They have 21 grandchildren. |
