Show citizens of brigham Brig haai to have services of garbage collector in res response Done to requests from ladies clubs of the community the mayor and city council have arranged to sponsor the weekly collection ot of garbage and rubbish throughout the city when this matter was presented to the city fathers by a committee from the civic improvement club the council set about to determine the wishes ot of the citizens Question alres were sent out and it was found that a a large lange number of 0 homes desired the service in the opinion of 0 the council the number of 0 homes desiring this collection service does not warrant the city financing the proposition from general taxes therefore the project must be self supporting mr air ernest cheney has made arrangements range ments to handle the garbage and rubbish collection and will make a charge of 0 ten cents per week tor for each home visited it will be necessary however to arrange the charge according to the amount of material to be moved it Is mr ITT cheneya Che opinion that this can be worked out very satisfactorily to all concerned the following regulations will vill gov erna the collection ot of garbage and rubbish 1 owners to furnish their own containers ta iners which should be fly proof when used tor for garbage 2 ashes cans and garbage must bs be kept separate 3 regular collection days will be carried out all containing rubbish etc must be placed at a point so as to be visible from the street 4 the charge tor for this service will be according to the amount to be removed for ordinary weekly stops a flat charge of ten cents will be made 5 the collector will render his bill on the first of each month the city board of health desires the citizens to take advantage of this ment it is felt a great deal can be accomplished by weekly cleanups clean ups A cleaner city means a healthier city individual cooperation Is therefore desired |
