Show Local and Society ENGAGED Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hancock of Jacksonville, Florida announce the engagement of their daughter, Rita, to Fred G. Rlggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay A. Rlggs of Pangultch. The bride-to-be Is a graduate of Robert E. Lec High School In Jacksonville, and Is presently working as a receptionist for Dr. Sims E. Dugglns at the LDS Pangultch Hospital. Mr. Rlggs has attended the Brlgham Young University and College of Southern Utah where he is presently enrolled. He has also fulfilled a two-year LDS mission to the Florida Mission, A December wedding In the St. George LDS Temple is planned. TO WED Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. War-by of Cedar City announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, llene, to Norman Johnson, son of Bishop and Mrs. Bryan Johnson of Hen-rievillc. The couple will exchange wedding vows in the St. George Temple on September 17. A reception will be held that evening In Cedar City and a reception and dance in Hen-rlevllle on September 24th. Miss Warley graduated from Cedar High and attended one year of college at CSU. Mr, Johnson is a graduate of Bryce Valley High School and an Electronics course in Salt Lake and has completed one year at CSU. WEDDING RECEPTION A wedding reception and dance will honor Gay Rowley and Tom Shakespear on Sept. 17th at the Tropic Recreation Hall. The young couple will exchange marriage vows in the St. George Temple on Sept. 10. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rowley of Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shakespear are parents of the benedict-elect. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell S. Willis WOOLSEY WILLIS On Friday, August 19, nuptial pledges were exchanged in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by Dorothy Woolsey and Lowell S. Willis. A wedding dinner that evening at Harman Cafe was given by parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan B. Willis of Escalante. The bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hal J. Woolsey of Reams' were hosts Saturday evening at a reception at the Grandalcc Villa Reception Center in Granger: OPEN HOUSE An open house, honoring Ethel and Wilford Clark on their 80th birthdays, will be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at their home in Cannonville from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. No gifts, please. Mrs. James Faris was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Ann Lyn Langston, Miss Sherry Kimber, Miss She-ree Whittle, Miss Paulette De-col. Junior bridesmaid was Annette Woolsey, and flower girl wss Sherry Dean. Best man was Elwood B. Willis. Ushering were Blaine Willis, Dale Woolsey, and Lynn Willis (ring bearer). The couple will make their home in Cedar City where Lowell will continue school at CSU. Dorothy also attended the CSU. A bridal shower was held on September 1st for Mrs. Lowell Willis at the family residence in Escalante. Mother of the bride, Lasca Woolsey and daughter Annette came from Kearns, Vaunda Willis from Richfield, Gretha Twitchell, Alta and Fern Henderson, and Ethel Clark from Cannonville. Those assisting with gifts and refreshments were Lana Lis-ton, Garna Mclnelly, Gloria Bailey, Nicki Griffin, Gretha Twitchell, and Vaunda Willis. |
