Show Thomas Sawyers To Celebrate Golden Wedding At Hatch Home On May 2nd Thomas H. and Beryl R. W. Sawyer will celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 2nd. They were married May 2, 1915 by Bishop James B. Burrows at Hatch; the marriage was solemnized November 16, 1941 in the St. George Temple. They are the parents of 11 children, 10 of whom are still livingi Nile and David G. of Hatch, Mrs. Leone (Veota) Wooley of Orem, Mrs. A. Duncan (Rhoana) Findlay of Kanab, Floyd of Roy, Mrs. Roy (Wanda) Shakespear of Tropic, Ronald of Cedar City, Clifton of Ogden, Mrs. Melvin (Naomi) Miller of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Robert (Clara) Palmer of Pittman, Nevada. They have 29 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer are life time residents of Hatch. He was born August 12, 1892 to Thomas B. and Margaret Hatch Sawyer. He has been a farmer and stock man; ward teacher, Sunday School Second Counselor, First Counselor in Elders Quorum; member of Hatch Farmstead Water Board for many years. She was born October 14, 1897 at Panguitch to George A. and Rhoana Clark Workman. She has held the following positions: 35 years in the Hatch ward Primary Assoc. 'and at present Relief Society Visiting Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and President of the Hatch Camp D.U.P. Her hobby is making quilts. Open house will be held at their home May 2nd from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Omission of gifts is requested. |
