Show Local & Society TO WED Miss Mary Annabelle Fletcher Mr. and Mrs John Clele Fletcher of Cannonville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Annabelle, to Reuben Dwain Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Palmer of Hawthorne, Nevada. The marriage will be solemnized in the St. George Temple on Dec. 22nd. A wedding reception honoring the newly-weds will be held Dec 23rd in the Tropic recreation hall. All are cordially invited to attend. The bride-elect is a former student of Utah State University and CSU. She has fulfilled a mission to the Southern States. Th prospective groom is a student of the University of Nevada in Reno. He recently returned from a North British Mission. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bart Smith of Henrieville and Mr. John W. Palmer of Cannonville. The newly-weds will make their home in Hawthorne, Nevada. QUILTER WAKE Mr. and Mrs. Mark Rasmus-sen of Orem announce the marriage of their daughter Sherry Quilter to Michael Wake, son of the Max Wakes of Orem. A reception will be held Dec. 19 at the home of the bridegroom's parents in Orem. Sherry is the daughter of the late Alvln Quilter, and granddaughter of the Dave Quilters of, Henrieville and the Allen Millers of Tropic. ALVEY COOMBS Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Coombs Anthony Coombs and Dot Alvey exchanged marriage vows Saturday, Dec. 5th, in the St. George Temple with President Rudgar Atkins offi- elating. A wedding breakfast was held at Dick's Cafe with the following in attendance: of course the bride and groom, the bride's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Ariel Alvey; her, grandparents, the S. J. Alveys; Bishop and Mrs. Morris Shirts, Mr. and .Mrs. Karl Spencer, all of Escalante; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Lyman and Vard Coombs of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Ross , Hansen, of Arizona,' Mr and Mrs. Kay Coombs of BoiVtrier. It rushed the group to get back, to EscalanU for a wedding j dance and shower that night in the high school gym, which was well attended. The newly weds left that night for-a honeymoon in Old Mexico. They will live in Boulder in the Ruby Ormond home. DALTON CLARK Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Clark The Grant Dalton residence was the setting Oct. 23rd for the marriage of Miss Shannon Dalton and Gilbert Clark, with President H. Frank Orton of Panguitch officiating. The newlyweds greeted guests at a reception immediately following their marriage. Parents of the newlyweds are are Mr. and Mrs. Grant B. Dalton of Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Clark of Cedar City. Miss Afton Evans served as the bride's maid of honor, with Gary Clark as best man; Ushering were Dennis Dalton and Bruce Dalton. Both have been working in California and at present plan to reside in Hatch. |
