Show STAKE MIA CONTEST v There will bo a contest sponsored again this year among the wards in Garfield Stake for attendance, to the Mutual Marrieds classes, bo- ginning with the opening ol the MIA season and closing next August. All adults in the stake are Invited to attend MIA and help their ward! out. . JOHNSON CARTEH Mr. and Mrs. Allen Camor-; on are announcing the mar-j riage of their grandson, Ben-Jamin C. Carter, to Miss Al-1 berta H. Johnson of Bremerton, Washington. Vows were exchanged on Septembcr4th In Las Vegas, Nevada. RICKETTS PORTER Marvin Porter, son of the Orland (Whitey) Porters of Escalautc took for his brido Miss Gloria Ritketts, daughter of the Lyle Rickelts of Antimony. They were married August 20th while he was home on furlough. He is now stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama, attending Aviation Maintenance school. 0 Mr. and Mrs. Mr and Mrs. Benjamin i Carter -5 Marvin Porter COOMBS LYMAN vhrinm Coombs of Boul-dr announces the marriage of his daughter. Mary, to Richard R. (Dick) Lyman, son of the Randall Lymans of Fscalantc. The marriage took place August 27th In the Salt Lake Temple. recDtion was held Sept 3rd in the Escalante South ward chapel with a large crowd in attendance, and display of many lovely and useful gifts. In the reception line were Mary Lyman, Eva Whittaker (Mary's sister), Ephrlam Coombs,, Gwen and Randal Lyman, Elwood Willis as best man, the bride and groom; the bridesmaids dressed in green velvet sheaths carrying bouquets of orange and yellow chrysanthemums were: Tressa Coombs, Deanna Lyman, Sarah Ward, and Ann Coombs Spencer; the flower girls were Claudia and Cam- Mrs. Richard R. Lyman Me Roundy 4-year old twin daughters of the Yuvonne Roundys; ushers were Larry, Vard and Anthony Coombs and Don Ashcroft. Helping with the serving were Janeen Bauer, Vonda Willis, Joyce Lyman, Mary Ward, Lizzie Porter, Millie Mclnclly, Lillian Coleman and Sarah May Hansen. The Max Hiskies,, the Harold Hansens and the Maynard Hickmans were among the relatives, also the Sam Pollocks of Tropic. The program with Jim Spencer as M.C. was as follows: Reading, LaRae Roundy, piano solo by Marlyn Whittaker, advice and pointers by Jim. The orchestra furnished good music and the crowd enjoyed dancing. |
