Show Sam Pollocks Plan Golden Wedding 1 " Celebration Octobei 10 7 An open houso Saturday, October 10th, will honor Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pollock on their Golden Wedding anniversary. Friends and relatives are invited to call at their home in Tropic from 2 to 6 p.m. Dancing in the evening, 9 to 11:30 p.m. ' They were married October 10, 1909, in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mr. Pollock was born Sept. 17, 1885 at Ash Creek near Kanarraville, Utah. He has served two LDS missions, the latter accompanied by his wife. He served as Bishop's counselor 19 years, as Bishop of tho Tropic Ward 4 years, and as Stake President of the Pangultch Stake for a period of 6 years. He has served as Stake High Counselman for 12 years, at present being Senior Member of the Stake High " Counsel of the Garfield Stake and chairman of the Garfield Stake Genealogical Committee. Mr. Pollock has always been a great civic leader, he j.- , was commissioner for 12 years, has been over-secr of various building and road constructing projects, and a successful farmer and livestock raiser Mrs. Pollock, who wa3 Emily Arilla Davis, was born Oct. 7, 1889 at Cannonville. She also has held many responsible church p:sltions in thi Ward. They are the parents of 10 children, those llv'ng are: Herman, Han, Afton, Mae and Erma of Tropic; Virginia, Reno, Nevada; Verdean, Grand Rapids, Minn.; and LaMolne, Green River, Utah; the couple have 32 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. |
