Following the rites the Justweds wero honored at a wedding breakfast at Harmon's on North Temple St.; hosts were parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton B. Wood of Farming- ton, The "bride, former Miss Caroline George, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Homer of 1428 Romona Ave., Salt Lake City, and granddaughter' of Mr. and Mrs. Jo-slah Barker of Escalante. The bride and her twin sister Marilyn were born and got a good start in Escalante: the Barker grandparents went up to the wedding and Clcma brought them back home. r LITTLE MELD REUNION Forty , seven members of the family of Waldo Little-field met at the old family home Sept. 12th for a family reunion. All of his living children (except Norman who lives in Las Vegas) and their families were present: Ray, Thclma Jolley, Amplus LeFe-vre, Ellis, and Malen. ALVEY CHYNOWETII Mr. and Mrs. Sam Alvey of Escalante announce the " marriage of their daughter, Vera (Blllie) to Larry Chyn- : oweth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrcnct Chynoweth of Hen- rieville. The wedding took place on Sept. 8th at Richfield; the ' couple honeymooned in Salt Lake City, and will live in Es- : calante. A wedding dance and reception was held in Henrieville Sept. 12th with a good attendance- and many useful gifts received. COUPLE TAKE LONG DELAYED VACATION Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Heaps of 336 West Center, Bountiful, Utah (formerly of Escalante) have returned home after a two month vacation. The first part of their vacation was spent seeing the high lights of the old Mormon Trail from Salt Lake City to Nauvoo, 111. They were able to attend the Mormon Pageant at the Hill Cumorah and other sights on to New York City, including Nlagra Falls and a part of Canada. On their return trip they stopped and visited the Black Hills of So. Dakota and Yellowstone Park (just a week before the big earthquake). They also stopped in Idaho Falls and done some work In the LDS Temple. They made tills trip with their son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Verge Heaps of Orem. After their return to Orem they witnessed the marriage of their granddaughter, Eva Ann (a daughter of Verge and Eva) In tho Salt Lake LDS Temple, and attended her reception tho samo evening. Following the reception they went on to Escalante where they attended the "Heaps" reu-Jon Aug. 23rd at the home of Ada Lay. They spent the second month at Cedar City at their daughter Edna's home. They remained in Cedar City for several Important t vents such as the "Riddle reunion Aug. 29th which was held in Pine Valley, Utah; the marriage of their grandson Sheldon, a son of Edna and Ned Sargent, the marriage took place at the St. George LDS ; Temple Sept. 5th and his reception was a week later on Sept. 12th. Mrs. Heaps spent her 70th : birthday fishing on Pangultch Lake with Ned and Edna. This was the first tme for her and her huband to over fish on Panfjitch Lake. They declare they had a wonderful vacation, but are happy to be home again. ? - - r - t |
