Show soil conservation: By Norman I Hill The" Upper "e v i"e r " Sol " "coi" servatlon District Doard met to make some important decisions. Chairman Jess Cherrlngton, Millard Hatch and Jimmy Burrows met with Albern Allen, Chalr-nin of the Tlute County SCD to circulate a petition to Include all of the Antimony area within the bounds of the Piute County District. It was agreed that this would be better for all parties concerned, particularly the people of Antimony who would get better service from their district. Others attending this meeting were John Bradshaw from IUchfleld and yours truly. Other members of the Piute district board are Glen Moore of Angle, Art Gottfredson and Alton Sudweeks of Circlevllle, and Bob Nlcol of Marysvale. These men have previously considered the desirability of Including Antimony In the Piute District. We'll have more news from Piute later. The second Important decision made by the Upper Sevier Board was to udopt a new policy In regards operating of the earth moving equipment. Details of this will be announced In the very near future. Without question, It will enable the district board to give better assistance to the farmers, or In other words since the farmers are the district, they will enable themselves to continue the very economical operation of their big earth moving equipment. To weeks ago the Icalante River SCD board met to make - romp important decisions. The) plan to make Intensive study and Investigations of water supply and storage In the Escal-ante and Boulder area with an eye to future development and continued economical and successful farming. We'll have more details about this at a later date. The activity and Interest of these groups is abounding. I am sure they will make provision and proposals that will be of real benefits to the people of their communities. |
