Results of the cooperative surreys by the Forest Service and Soli Conservation oh Jan, 4, and 5 are as follows:, Wldtsoe Escalante Summit; 8.8 snow -depth; 2.2 water corf-tent. Wldtsoe - EscalantS NO. 2. 14.6 snow depth; 3.S water con- ' tent. Long Yalley Junction: 0.0 enow depth; 0.0 water content. Harris Flat Ranger Station: 1.0 snow depth; 0.1 water content. Duck Creek Ranger Station: 6.0 mow depth; 1.0 water content. Cedar Breaks: 21,2 snow depth; 6.5 water content. The Wldtsoe-Escalante- snow Is about 71 of the 15 year aver age. On the main fork of the Sevier River and the Virgin River and Coal Creek, the courses have not been measured regularly, but on an estimated basis we have 1 from 0 to 15 of average for the low and Intermediate elevations and from 50 to 65 of average at the higher elevations. With about two-thirds of U, average years snow pack still to come, we hope that the water supply prospect will change considerably and show a marked In-crease. I |
