Show I Sudden, and Untimely Death Of Estimable Young Lady I At about 4 o'clock Monday morning of this week, Miss Annlo Munns, daughter of Bishop Bish-op and Mrs. Charles Munns of this city, passed away after an attack of inlluenza or about five day's duration. Her sudden , and untimely death spread a spirit of gloom over the entire community as she .was one of Garland's most estimable young ladles and took great pleasure In all public affairs both socially and religiously. She was the x first victim In this city of tho dread epidemic that has caused considerable sickness, death and sorrow throughout the county, Btato and nation. In our last Issue wo were hopeful and filled with Joy that Garland had been fortunate In having no deaths to report from-tho epidemic, but our Joy has been turned to Borrow Bor-row In having to chronicle tho demise of this beautiful young lady. Owing to the contagious disease dis-ease which caused this lyoung lady's death, tho funeral services serv-ices were held at tho City Cemetery Ceme-tery Tuesday, at 2 o'clock. There was a large turnout and numerous relatives of the family fam-ily from Salt LakevClty, Lehl, Sprlngvillo and Brigliam City were'.in attendance. First Counselor , Oluf JohnBon of the Garland! ward bishopric presldede at tho I services. A quartet consisting of George 0. 'Nye, Peter Boss, Mrs. W. F. Persson and Mrs. Joseph Wing furnished several beautiful selections and 'other mUsIcal numbers were rendered. Opening number, quartette, "I Know My Heavenly Father Knows." Prayer by Thomas E. King. Solo, "IbIo of Somewhere," Some-where," by Dr. W. M. Cragun. Elder Clarence E. Smith of the stake presidency then gave a vory Interesting sketch of tho young lady's life and delivered a very feeling address, referring to the sterling character of the deceased. Solo, "Como Unto Me," Mrs. Joseph Wing. Patriarch Pat-riarch J.. P. Christensen followed with a J few fitting sentiments Quartette, "Sister Thou Wast Mild and Lovely." Benediction -by Elder A. R. Capener of the stake presidency. The grave was dedicated by Elder 'A. J. Munns of Brigham City, brother of Blsliop Munns. Deceased had just passed her lGth birthday. She was bom in Elwood, October 29th, 1902; was bjessed as a child when six weeks and four days old, by her father and wns baptized by her father on her eighth birthday and confirmed tho following day as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by President A. R. Capener. Cape-ner. During her childhood, she had the advantage of a district school education and graduated with honors from itho eighth grade. After leaving the district dis-trict school, she did ono year of high school work at tho Garland Junior school and atended tho Box Elder High Bchool for one season. Sho had a very lovable find agreeable disposition hnd was willing and obedient, ever ready to -do her part in making theworkl better and' bi-Sghter'for her having lived in it. -At school, at Sunday school, at Primary and at all social gatherings sho I repeatedly used her talents in playing tho organ and piano to, make the various gatherings a succcs. During her llness, she manifested great faith in the Divine healing power and repeatedly re-peatedly requested her father to administer to her. In splto of Ihe prayers of tho ,, righteous, hoc own faith and the faith of others and tho untiring and faithful services of Dr. W. M. Cragun, death relieved her of her sufferings at the hour stated above in this article. She was conscious to the last and passed peacefully to her rest. |
