Show SPORTS. ' Saturday aftornoon of each week has been designed by the Mutual Improvement Association Associa-tion as a day of recreation and sports for tho physicial development devel-opment of the boys of tho association. as-sociation. Last Saturday about twonty-five of tho boys met for the first time at the City Park and engaged in several field events and a baseball gamo. The following wore prize winners: win-ners: 100 yd dash, Ed Gay-heart, Gay-heart, first place, Ed Secrist second. Running broad jump, Roy Manning, first, Ed Secrist second. 220 yd run (seniors,) Geo. Clark- first, Ross Evans second. 220 yd run (juniors) Stirling Secrist first, Uo Wo'l-ling Wo'l-ling second. In tho bast) ball gamo, bats wore broken, 'balls were knocked out of sight, and a general good timo was had. Next Saturday, same place, will bo the second meet and everyone every-one is invited to attend. |
