Show Utah State Fair. Nothing short of tho best exhibition ex-hibition ever held in the intor-mountain intor-mountain region will satisfy t President J. G. McDonald and tho members of the Utah State Fair Association as tho verdict on tho stato fair which will be held in Salt Lake October 3 to 8. Foi months the board has I been energetically at work and I the fruition of the plans is near. I Every department of the fair I will be larger than in the past, I as is indicted by tho veritable I Hood of entries that is pouring I ) in on Secretary Horace S. Eu- I 1 sign and his assistants, hi 1910 I i more than 10,3000 separate en- I tries -wore made. Tho indica- I , tions now are that this great I j numbes will bo far surpassed. I Entries already made and tho I inquiries indicate this beyond I question. Moro than $15,000 I will bo expended in prizes. In I addition thero will bo 24 cups I and 70 gold models awarded. I For tho speed department an- I , other $G,000 has boon appropri- I i ated, u sum sufficient to ensure I good racing overy day of tho I fair. I A departure that will meet I with public approbation is tho decision to make all tho open I air entertainments absolutely I free. In tho past much of .this I entertainment has been given I in front of tho grand stand I which necessitated the purchase of seats in tho grand stand by persons who wished to see the acrobatic and other feats. The fair management decided as the fair is a public institution, it should be made as possible for the public to see it. For this form of entertainment an appropriation ap-propriation of $4,000 has been made and this sum will bo augmented aug-mented if a satisfactory airship can be produced, as is hoped. . In the various buildings .of the fair the displays, it is expected, ex-pected, will bo vastly superior to those of the past. The demand de-mand foi space is indicated by tho Merchants' Demonstrating building, a now doparturo this year to house tho exhibits of morchants who handle foreign manufactured goods. Though this is tho first year for this building, tho space in it was practically gone within a few days after tho announcement was made. As in the past supervisors are in charge of the various departments of tho fair, who make arrangements' subject to tho disposition of the board. The supervisors aro: horses, B. F. Redman; cattle, W. H. Rowo; sheep and swine J. H. Seoly; poultry, Robert R. Irvine; Ir-vine; dairy products, Win. C. Winder; horticulture and floriculture, flori-culture, C. A.
