Both Men Have Been Identified As the Robbers By Trainmen, and There Seems Little Doubt That Right Men Are In Jail. Ogden, Utah. Tho two men who held up tho Union Pacific Overland Limited train at Rccso on the night of January 2, murdered William Davis, Da-vis, a colored porter, and shot through tho arm A. N. Taylor, another porter, clubbed passengers almost into Insensibility In-sensibility and made off with money and Jewelry to tho value of many thousand dollars, aro now In Jail in this city. Tho alleged robbers are W. Lowls, aged 39 years, a railroad section foreman, fore-man, and Thomas O'Dell, aged 38 years, a bartender, who has boen hero for more than a year. Doth men have been Identified as the robbers by trainmen who had a good view of them on the night of the robbery. Two other men wore arrested with Lewis and O'Dell when Oiey were captured In a rooming house In this city by the chief of po-llco po-llco and chief of detectives of Ogden. It Is not believed, however, that the last two men had any hand In the robbry. Th officers aro confident that they havo such a clear case against the men that a confession will be forthcoming forth-coming within a few days. |
