Show Financial Loss Through Tuberculosis. Based on the census of 1900, it is estimated by the National Association for tho Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis Tu-berculosis that nearly 100,000 children now in school will die of tuberculosis before they tire 18 years of ago, or that about 6,400 die annually from this disease. Estimating that on an average each child who dies of tuberculosis tuber-culosis has had six years of schooling, the aggregate loss to the country In wnsted education each year amounts to $1,152,000. According to investigations investiga-tions mado In Now York, Uoston and Stockholm, the percentage of children who nre afflicted with tuberculosis is much larger than tho death rate would Indicate. |
