Show What Do You Know. How about the school-houses in your town! What sort of a class-room is provided for your son or daughter to work in, five or six hours per day? Do you know whether fresh air is admitted ad-mitted or prohibited in that room? Do you know whether the room is properly cleaned or is it gormladen with sweepings? sweep-ings? And if yon don't know, why don't you know? Why do you watch your child's scholastic progress, as shown in weokly or monthly reports from the teacher, and neglect to ask what caro is given to his body from 0:00 to 12:00 and from 1:30 to '5:30, five days each week? If you heard that little Jimmy Brown, who sits ut tho desk next to your son was carrying diphtheria diph-theria germs from the bedside of his sick father into tho classroom, class-room, you would bo the first to appear before tho city physician or board to file a complaint. Well, Jimmy's fathorhas a disease dis-ease just as infections tuberculosis tubercu-losis and Jimmy Brown is carrying into that close, un-ventilated un-ventilated class-room tuberculosis tubercu-losis germs in his clothing. Why don't you do something to prevent such dangerous contact con-tact from yom boy? Why don't you demand in your town notification and registration re-gistration for the father and fumigation and segregation for tho son? What right have you, ns an intelligent father or mother, mot-her, to let your child take such chances? These aro straight-from-tho-shouldor questions which you, as a parent, should consider and answer. They contain the reason rea-son for physical examination of school-children. This does not work a hardship on tho fow, and it does save the many. Better that the school board of your town be forced to spend a few dollars each month for a class of segregated tubercular children than that your children and a score of other healthy children should be infected with tho White Plague.
