Knudson wo aro Indebted In-debted for the following account of tho recent Irrigation Congress held In Albuquerque, New Mexico, tho week beginning Sept. 29th, In which Utnh and Box Elder County played a very Important part. To Mr. Knudson wns entrusted tho care of all the stone fruits and vegetables vege-tables from this state, and ho supervised super-vised tho wholo exhibit nt tho Congress. Con-gress. This state won tho Hearst Cup for the best exhibit of fruits anil vegetables by 1 V4 points, the stato of Colorado being tho nearest competitor. competi-tor. Mr. Knudson made an individual exhibit of fruits nnd vegetables grown on his farm, among which were four kinds of squash; two kinds of tomatoes; toma-toes; ono kind of cucumbors; thrco kinds of peppers; four kinds of cabbage, cab-bage, together with carrots and beets. Of fruits there were sixty two boxes of peaches comprising seventeen varieties; var-ieties; sixteen boxes of plums nnd prunes, comprising nlno varieties one box of apples, comprising thrco varieties. Ho had the largest squash n exhibition, and his peaches won ho highest marks of any In tho whole nnlted States, with Colorado next, Vrlzona third nnd California fourth. As a prize for tho best peachos, Mr. Knudson received n flno gasoline nglno and pump, which ho Is expecting expect-ing hero in n few days. Wo feel a mighty big pride in the achievements of our county In theso things nnd congratulato Mr. Knudson In so nbly representing us, and In -arrylng off tho prizes which ho did.
